Gifts for Interior Lovers

This isn’t my letter to Father Christmas, but it’s very similar! Often when buying gifts we can try to think of things that are for the person, rather than the home, but sometimes a gift for the home is just the perfect treat. Especially for renovators who are crossing the finish line and are out of pennies to add the finishing touches. I’m not talking about irons and slow cookers, even though they are useful, but instead beautiful pottery, divine scented candles and the softest blankets. Dive on in to explore some of my favourite small businesses keeping our homes gorgeous all through the year.

1. Sensational Ceramics from Every Story

Ceramics

Abby & Hannah, sisters behind this beautiful brand, design and hand make their ceramics in their studio in the Vale of Belvoir. I first came across their talent a few years ago and purchased a set of coasters which encapsulated everything I hoped our future home by the sea would be: an earthy palette, textured and original. On their online shop you can order mugs, jugs, platters, cake stands, plates, hanging planters and much more. Prices range from £10 and you know you’re treating the recipient to a one off piece of gorgeousness!

2. Artwork by Jenny Evans

Artworks

Inspired by nature, particularly coastal colours and wildlife, Jenny Evans gives attention to detail and has a talent that keeps my eyes wandering around her pieces. Amazingly Jenny sold her first cards in a shop aged 11 and has continued to create wonderful work using a range of techniques including textile artwork and linocuts. Her art is available in print form as well as the very special original pieces. Take a look on her website for florals, insects, birds, coastal scenes and landscapes.

3. Home Accessories from Brocante

Home accessories

My favourite local go-to has an online shop! If ever I need to pick up a beautiful gift for the home this is a place I rely on, their choice of everything from candles and plant pots to cushions and even furniture is spot on. Inside their coastal stores in Mevagissey, Fowey and St Ives there’s a feast for all interior lovers, from classic neutrals to vibrant prints there’s something for everyone and every budget.

4. Trailing potted strings of hearts by Little Pots Lots of Love

Plant pots

A recent find for me, and something I am certainly gifting to a friend soon. I love the ethos behind this business, and the success Em has achieved from starting during lockdown. Treat a friend with a beautiful pot planted with a string of hearts and perfectly packaged ready to arrive in the hands of a lucky plant lover, definitely a gift that keeps on giving. Easy to pre-order for a specific date on the website and you can enter someone for the ‘string of kindness’ daily draw too.

5. A Shelf of Joy from Cedar and Sawdust

Handmade shelf

"Collect things you love, that are authentic to you, and your home becomes your story" Erin Flett. Where to put these things we love? On a shelf made by Anna-Marie. Choose the size, wood finish and style of brackets on the etsy store and make an interior lover, shelfie stylers, dreams come true!

6. Cosy up Essentials from Echo Designs

Home candles

Two things that go hand in hand for a cosy afternoon: candles and hot chocolate! This duo are a perfect pair, but also on the website you can treat your loved ones to diffusers, vases and artificial stems. I'm treating myself to a candle, I can't wait until Christmas!

7. Cushions on Cushions from Coastal Scandi

Scandi cushions

This brand combines two of my favourite styles effortlessly. Post renovation I'm going to have a field day here. In the meantime I’m vicariously shopping through all of you gift hunters and first into my basket would be a selection of cushions by Spira of Sweden. They lend themselves to layering and mixing the nature inspired prints. Beautiful! While you’re shopping on their store you can of course add glassware, tableware, storage and scented delights.

8. Gifts for the kitchen from The Salcombe Trading Company

Kitchenware

Style and quality in abundance on one of my favourite online shops, I often swoon over the furniture but the options for a smaller budget are endless too. Amongst the table ware, clocks, wall art and cashmere socks I spotted this statement lamp, great priced serving boards and twisted column candles to decorate a table fit for great friends, food and drink!

9. Warm up Wonders from Atlantic Blankets

Atlantic blankets

Did someone turn the sun off? Yes they did! Thankfully Atlantic Blankets have a hug in box ready to wrap around your nearest and dearest. The hug in a box includes your chosen colour of blanket (which is exceptionally soft), a candle and a bar of delicious chocolate, that would be a hattrick under the tree! You can choose from other gift boxes, the seconds sale and extra gifts for sea lovers on their website.

10. Add all to cart at Nordic House

Nordic home accessories

If you’re on the search for gifts for a 'hostess with *almost* the mostest' Nordic House have you covered. I like everything on their online store and I love some extra special pieces that would make entertaining at home or having a twinkly night in merrier. On my hit list is the Parla dinner set range, the oak sharing board, (I’m picturing it piled with slices of cheesecake and squares of brownies) and the Vita gin glasses are also firmly on my ‘post renovation’ list. The choices on the online store are suitable for all budgets and absolute winners for interior lovers!

Thank you for reading my round up of small businesses who step up to the table and help us buy gifts for interior lovers, it's been a joy to do some online shopping and list writing. I'd love to know if you go on to do any shopping for your family and friends (or even yourself).

To you,

from me x
